A K Lohithadas'
The late 1980s is memorable in the department of Malayalam scriptwriting. Ambazathil Karunakaran Lohihadas entered the industry with a bang and his sharp scriptwriting became immortalized in the hearts of Malayalis. Lohithadas was initially passionate about penning short stories and eventually he shifted his interest as a playwright. He wrote a script for Kerala People’s Art Club and even received State award for it. Thaniyavarthanam, which was scripted by Lohithadas, was a landmark in Malayalam cinema. Lohithadas has the credit of penning over 32 scripts in his profession of 22 years. He tried his luck as a director after tasting success as a scriptwriter.
Padmarajan became known for his script writing skills since his youngr days itself. He garnered the Kerala Sahithya Academy Award in 1972 for his very first attempt in novel Nakshantrangale Kaval. The 1974 flick Prayanam was his first endeavor in films and later he penned scripts for several flicks. Padmarajan- Bharathan combo was a tremendous success of that period. Lorry and Thakara is just a couple of hit films of this duo. A few of Padmarajan’s short stories were remade in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. He also tried his luck in direction.
He made his debut in Mollywood in 1977; Sreenivasan first endeavored into acting and later shifted to scriptwriting in the films. He had written various scripts for Malayalam films and his showcase of North-Keralite dialect, which was done by him only, is something commendable. Sreenivasan is revered as

'M. T. Vasudevan Nair'
Most of the projects of this acclaimed scriptwriter are regarded as classics. There is a perfect blend of filmmaking and literary aspects in Nair’s works. Nair has worked on over 50 scripts. After the 60s his scripts were widely acclaimed by viewers and critics . Nair has his unique style of penning scripts and his grammar is something impeccable. Murappennu, his debut venture as a script writer, was indeed a landmark in Malayalam cinema.
Blessy is indeed a blessed one in his departments of filmmaking. Thanmatra, his directorial venture with Mohanlal (Blessy also penned the script) was a landmark in his career. Surprisingly, he was not passionate about writing in his earlier ages but got the award for Best Script in his second venture itself.
It was accidental for Adoor Gopalakrishnan to enter into films. His childhood interest was actually theater. Penning plays became his interest at the tender age of 8 itself. Adoor is known for his contemplative scripting and Ellipatthayam is a flick which got him great reviews and awards for scriptwriting. Relevance and originality are the fortes of his scripts.
