When bold and beautiful Bhumi Pednekarr was asked to play the character of Sandhya Varma for the super-hit flick Dum Laga Ke Haisha, she had to pile on 23 kilos to look apt for her plump avatar in the movie. Normally actresses have to shed those love handles to show their sexy figure in the films, but Bhumi had to cross the border of 90kg of weight to suit her role. She ate pizzas for her breakfast and a lot of rich Mughlai food and sweets. Her hard work indeed paid off as her role was universally lauded and she even got the Filmfare Best Debut Award (Female).

But this talented actress lost 21 kgs in 4-months span right after the filming of the movie. She said that she faced health setback after this. Hence, Bhumi and her mother decided on a workout plan to get her back to shape.

Workout

She starts her day with a morning followed by sprints.
Bhumi visits the gym at noon and does cardio exercises for 15 minutes, followed by weight training for 40 minutes.
She alternatively switches from weight training to functional training.
Not only this, but Bhumi is also active in sports like Badminton, Volleyball, and swimming.
When in a jolly mood, Bhumi dances on the beats of Bollywood songs to maintain her weight loss momentum and shed that love handles.
Bhumi soon plans to incorporate yoga into her routine as it’s great for holistic health.

Diet

First of all, Bhumi bid adieu to gluten and rice completely from her diet. She opted for a Bajra, Ragi and Jowar roti instead of a wheat roti. And to satisfy her sweet tooth, her mother used to prepare sweets out of fig (Dried Anjeer).

She starts her day with two glasses of lukewarm lemon water.
For her breakfast. she prefers a piece of brown bread and three egg whites.
For lunch, she prefers six egg whites or chicken Chawal.
In the evening, she drinks skimmed milk/green tea along with crackers or almonds.
For dinner, she eats lots of green veggies and grilled fish or chicken.
