The industry is known to produce many movies per year, some of the movies are hypothetical and some have a strong historic background. These historic movies are very meaningful, and have treasures of knowledge. These important movies sometimes face protests because of the religious intolerance in the country. Several groups ban the movie as according to them; some explicated content is showed which might ruin their heritage, whereas this is completely false. They have no right to make an opinion without even watching the movie. The movies which had to go through such rage are:
The movie was about how youngsters were into drugs in Punjab which was a good cause. The Shiv Sena, however, thinks that the movie is misleading the youth. They have an idea that the movie is about defaming the Punjab state. The movie had to face quite protests, but the state government stood by it.
This is the movie which made a huge stir in the wind of India. The political parties associated with religion were more worried about the movie. The Karni Sena who was the main party in the protest said that the movie displayed some inappropriate content which defame the Rajput community.
This movie of who is starring as Rani Laxmi Bai is also facing protests on illogical issues. The Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha acknowledged the press that the makers had depicted the character of Rani Laxmi Bai in a disrespectful way. They have baseless arguments as they haven’t even seen the movie yet.
This Vishal Bhardwaj’s production had to face protest as the people thought that the movie shows the negative role of the Indian Army. They also boycotted it because of the scenes involving violence. The movie was a big hit though.
5. My Name Is Khan
The protests had nothing to do with the content of the movie. The Shiv Sena was offended by the remarks made by

regarding the Pakistani players. They took out their anger on the movie and the theaters that were showing his movie.
6. Madras Café
The movie had a meaningful plot showing the assassination of the famous Rajiv Gandhi. This angered the Tamil political parties as they were shown as the villains. Ashish Shear, the Mumbai BJP also banned the movie.
7. Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela
This Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie had to see protest because the communities didn’t like it. The title was initially Ramleela, but the Hindu community was not happy, so it was changed to Ram-Leela. Also, the Kshatriya community was unhappy regarding the castes used, so they were changed to Saneda and Rajadi.
8. Bandit Queen
This was a
produced movie on the biopic of Phoolan Devi. It faced heavy criticism because of the use of abusive language and also some portions of nudity in the movie.
This was one of the very few movies that depicted the relationship of lesbians on the Indian screens. Here too, the Shiv Sena played an important role, making sure that the audience was not open to such motivational movies.
10. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
The protest of this movie had nothing related to the content of the movie. The movie was released after the Uri attack which enraged the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena to ban the Pakistani artist and the movie was starring Fawad Khan.
