RJ Hasini

R K. Vilasini, popularly known as RJ Hasini, is a versatile Indian radio & video jockey, dubbing artist and anchor. She was born on 15th August 1988 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Vaigai Raja and Charumathi Ramamoorthy. She was brought up in a house where her father was a sound engineer for Echo Recording Company and her uncle was the great maestro, Illayaraja.

Hence, her fluency with words and mellifluousness in singing came naturally. She completed her schooling from the Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School in Chennai and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, specializing in Computer Sciences, from the Hindustan College of Arts and Science in the suburban region of Kelambakkam.

Post-graduation, she joined Radio Mirchi, where she worked as a trainee RJ for two years. After working as a freelancer master of ceremonies for a few months, joined the crew of the Sun TV Group, anchoring for the comedy show “Idhudhaanda Sirippu” (2008), aired on Adithya TV. In 2010, she quit the channel to become a senior RJ, hosting the ‘Dhool Chennai Dhool’ segment under the pseudonym Hasini on Radio City 91.1 FM, broadcasted in Chennai. She uplifted her listeners’ moods from 5 p.m. To 9 p.m.

Daily with her funny and entertaining chats about the local and the national news along with dug-up celebrity gossip. After four successful years at Radio City, she tried her vocals at dubbing, working as a voice-over artist at Vijay TV for the reality show “ Time Pass Time Pass is a Tamil language TV show that aired o >> Read More... ” (2009) and the romantic family drama “Namma Vettu Kalyanam” (2010). In 2014, she founded Hasini Boutique, an ethnic Indian apparel brand for women, followed by Vilasini in 2018, which is a professional makeup studio in Chennai.

She currently hosts the musical competition series “Nenje Nenje” on Super TV. She resides in Chennai, separated from her ex-husband, and accompanied by her parents and a pug, Rowdy.
