Gopichand Malineni Reveals Why Vijay Left His Film

Gopichand Malineni finally has the last laugh.

The Telugu director recently opened up in an interview that one of his movies with famous Tamil star ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay was unfortunately shelved because of political pressure. According to the interview, the director had narrated the script to Vijay, who was extremely impressed with the potential of the same.

However, around the same time, reports of the actor joining politics surfaced, and eventually Gopichand was pressured to back out, just because he wasn’t Tamilian. This was just after Veera Simha Reddy had released in the theaters.

According to recent reports, JAAT is set to wrap up with a respectable lifetime collection of 115-120 crores worldwide, compared to a budget of 100 crores. The performance of the movie in the tier two cities has inspired the makers to go for a sequel, starring Sunny Deol as the maverick soldier, Baldev Pratap Singh.
