Mirchi Hemant

Mirchi Hemant, or simply Hemant is a radio jockey working for Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, and an occasional actor. Hemant was born in Secunderabad and studied at St. Martin High School. Once Hemant completed his studies, he joined Radio Mirchi as an RJ in 2006. Since then, Hemant has been presenting “Hi Hyderabad” for the radio station. “Hi Hyderabad” is a morning show which is on air from 7 am to 11 am. It is a difficult task, but Hemant has continued to inspire his listeners to start their day with a positive outlook. Apart from interviews with the celebrities, and interaction with the people, fans know Hemant better for his comic-timing.

As the official website of Radio Mirchi has stated, Hemant uses sarcasm in his jokes which have earned him praise from all the radio lovers living in Hyderabad. Hemant got the prefix of “Mirchi” to his name due to his long stint with the group. In 2012, Radio Mirchi and Big Bazaar teamed up for a cleanliness drive. For “Big Bazaar- Mirchi Clean Hyderabad,” Hemant staged his arrest and confined himself to a cage in the premises of Kacheguda complex of Big Bazaar. As the crowd gathered to see him, Hemant urged all the customers to help him by participating in the event where they would receive coupons in exchange for unused household items.
