Talasani Srinivas Yadav is an Indian politician from the state of Telangana. He was born on 6 October 1965 in Secunderabad, Telangana to Venkatesham Yadav. He joined the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from the Secunderabad constituency in 1994, headed by late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He became a minister and the member of the Legislative Assembly after defeating his Congress counterpart, Mary Raindranath, in the 1999 assembly elections.
He lost his position of power in 2004, following which he devoted himself to working for the cause of underprivileged backward and oppressed classes of the society. He resurged in the 2008 assembly by-elections with a landslide victory over Pitla Krishna of Congress by more than eighteen thousand votes.
He rose to prominence for mitigating the plight of local farmers and became the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Archaeology of Andhra Pradesh. Later, Nara Chandra Babu elected him as the Minister for Labour in his cabinet. He became the president of State Telugu Yuvata in 2005. His son, Saikiran Yadav, is an MBA graduate from the University of Wollongong in Australia, who is aspiring for a ticket in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi to contest for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Talasani is currently an MLA from the Sananthnagar Assembly constituency. He resides in West Marredpally in Secunderabad with his wife, Swarna, and three children.
