Veena Ghantasala is an Indian dubbing artist who works in the South Indian film industry. Born in the famous Ghantasala family, she is the granddaughter of musician Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and Savitri. Her father, Ratna Kumar is also involved in the art of dubbing in the movies. Based in Chennai, she completed her schooling at Holy Angels Convent School in the city. Later, she went on to pursue B.Com in finance and MBA at MOP Vaishnav College for Women in the same metropolis. Naturally, Veena followed in his footsteps and decided to become an artist just like her father. Before joining the current profession, she used to sing songs and jingles. When she was in the fourth grade, she got herself enrolled in Carnatic music classes. Veena’s teachers and relatives encouraged her passion for music which proved to be helpful when she delivered her first-ever stage performance without any sign of nervousness. She got her first chance to dub for the popular television serial Mowgli in Telugu language at the age of eleven. Further, she performed the task for Suryavamsam which got aired on Gemini TV.

In an interview, she said that she approached PuriJagannadh of “Pokkiri” and “BbudahHoga Tera Baap” fame, for dubbing work. Without any hesitation, the director instantly agreed to give Veena the responsibility to dub for Adah Sharma’s character Hayati in “Heart Attack.”
She considers Puri as a charismatic person who sees a winner in every artist. “Heart Attack” was her first full-fledged Telugu project. Veena took a break from her stints to complete her MBA course during her hiatus. Like her name “Veena” which is an instrument’s name, she is good at playing it. Her hobbies include cooking which she believes a part of “meditation.” Not many people would know about it, but Veena teaches under-privileged children with sincere efforts.
