Laya is a renowned actress, having done numerous projects in multiple languages. She was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, whose father was a doctor and mother a high school music teacher. She has been married to her spouse, Dr. Sri Ganesh Gorty, since 2006. She has a daughter named Sloka Gorty and son, Vachan Gorty. Her talent does not end at acting alone. She is a skilled stage performer in the category of classical dancing and has taken to the stage frequently during her childhood days. In addition to this, she was also a state level chess player. Her debut film was as a child artist in the film 'Bhadram Koduko' (1992). Soon afterwards, she starred alongside the famed actor Venu, in the movie ' Swayamvaram' (1999), which was in Telugu.

Her career in the film industry goes on to around 40 films in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Her latest project was a Telugu movie named 'Adda' (2013). Lakshmi Sharma is the glamorous Mollywood actress renowned for her acting in some noted Malayalam films. She had left her mark in the heart of Mollywood. Although she made her debut in Telugu films, she could not become popular in Tollywood. She came to Hyderabad from Vijayawada to pursue her dream to become a heroine. So she adjusted herself even in a side actress role in’’ Ammo Okato Thareeku’’(2000). Her first film remuneration was Rs 20,000. Quite upset in her career in Telugu films, she migrated to Kerala where she was offered some good movies. She had left Tollywood due to lack of heroine roles and surprised everyone by doing 10 films as a heroine in Malayalam films later on. The actress made her debut into Malayalam films through the Mammootty starrer film ‘Palunku’(2006). The film was directed by Blessy. She was born in Andhra Pradesh. She was keen to act in cinema since her childhood. She acted with Chiranjeevi too in “Indra”(2002), but the actress went un-noticed. She acted in 12 Telugu films, but since her films were not appreciated, she considered this as a setback in her career. Later, she attended a screen test by a professional filmmaker in Chennai in 2005. Her photos and video footage impressed star Malayalam director Blessy and she started getting offers. This is how she made her foray in Mollywood. Kerala audiences found a Srividya in her. After her success in big screen, she did a title role in the Telugu TV serial Durga. Leela Naidu was a notable Indian actress, who became famous for her acting in some English and Hindi films like Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke in the year 1963, The Householder, etc. Being the Femina Miss India, in 1954, was featured in a fashion and lifestyle magazine named Vogue in the World's Ten Most Beautiful Women's list. It was a prominent fashion magazine, in which she was listed continuously from the 1950s to 1960s worldwide. She is very famous for her subtle acting style and stunning classical beauty. She was born in Mumbai. Her father was a famous nuclear physicist named Ramaiah Naidu, who hailed from the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Out of the eight pregnancies of her mother, she was the only surviving baby. Marthe was a journalist and an Indologist. The freedom fighter and senior Congress leader named Sarojini Naidu was her aunt. She was married to Tilak Raj Oberoi when she was 17 years old, in 1956. He is the child of the founder of Oberoi Hotels, Mohan Sinch Oberoi. Tilak Raj was about 33 years old. The couple had twin daughters who were named Maya, and Priya. They got divorced, and the custody of both the girls rested with Oberoi. She got married again, to Dom Moraes, who was a poet in Mumbai in the year 1969. They lived together for 25 years in different places like New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, New Delhi, etc. She started leading a reclusive life in Mumbai after the relationship with Dom Moraes ended. She started her film career alongside Balraj Sahni in the film named Anuradha in the year 1960. The film obtained the National Film Award for the Best Feature Film in spite of not being so successful at the box office. Next, she acted in a movie called Ummeed opposite Joy Mukherjee and Ashok Kumar in the year 1962. She next worked in Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, which was filmed on the basis of a real-life case called K. M. Nanavati vs. the State of Maharashtra and was a flop. Later, in the year 1963, she acted in the film The Householder, which was directed by an American film director, James Ivory. Satyajit Ray planned an English film after getting impressed with her performance in this movie. The movie was named The Journey. Unfortunately, the film could not be made at all. Though, Naidu was considered for the character of Rosie in the film Guide in 1965; she lost the chance as she was not a trained dancer, which was required for the role. She then acted in the movie Baghi in 1964, which was her last film in Bollywood. She made a guest appearance in The Guru, which is a Merchant-Ivory film in the year 1969. She acted in Electric Moon in the year 1992, which was directed by Pradip Krishen, which was her last role in movies. A documentary named Lila was released by Priyanjana Dutta and Bidisha Roy Das in September 2009, which focused on Leela's life. She also acted in one episode of two television series named Man of the World and Channing in the year 1962 and 1964, respectively. She died on 28th July 2009 in Mumbai, because of lung failure at the age of 69 after a prolonged intensive effect of influenza.
