Swathi Reddy is an actress and TV presenter from India. She was known as Colours Swathi when she was doing the Telugu TV show, ‘Colours’, which was aired on Maa TV. Swathi was born on April 9, 1987, in Vladivostok, Russia. Her first name was Svetlana and then changed it to Swathi. Her father was working as a submariner from the Indian Navy. Then they moved to Mumbai and afterward, in Visakhapatnam where she spent her childhood days. When she was in her 11th standard, she moved to Hyderabad and studied at St. Mary’s College and finished Biotechnology. After taking the EAMCET test, she started on TV at 17. She hosted ‘Colors’ and because of the good feedback from the viewers, they extended the show, and it became a primetime show. She has finished over 150 episodes. Swathi made her debut in doing the supporting roles. She was introduced as a lead star in the Tamil film, ‘Subramaniapuram’ in 2008. Then later, the film was dubbed as ‘Ananthapuram 1980’. Her performance in this movie was critically acclaimed and then she started acting in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. She got the Telugu’s Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her character in Ashta Chamma. Swathi is also a voice over artist and a playback singer. She later appeared in Deiva Vaaku and Pudhu Varusham. In 1993, she was featured, once again, in K. Balachander’s Tamil drama film, Jathi Malli, followed with various Tamil and Telugu films. Yuvarani didn’t have much of a leap in her career until she played Geetha in the 1995 Tamil film, ‘Baashha’. Her first lead role in the big screen was from the Tamil romantic drama film, ‘Chellakannu’, in 1995, under the direction of N. Rathnam. The story is all about two cousins, Chellakannu (played by actor, Vignesh) and Chandra (played by Yuvarani). They are very close to each other ever since they were young; until Chandra leaves their village to pursue her studies. When she returns, their family wants them to get married. Yuvarani did a few more films including the Tamil action film, ‘Singham’, and ‘Singham 2’. This year, she is filming, ‘Varusa Naadu’. Yuvarani was married to Ravindra, a businessman from Malaysia, and so she moved to Malaysia for her husband. Later, she came back to India and acted in the small screen. She became popular for doing the negative role of Prabhavathi in the famous Tamil television series, ‘Chithi’, which was aired on Sun TV, produced by Radaan Productions. In the story, Yuvarani’s character hated Chithi so much. She was also part of the Sun TV serial, ‘Kalyanam’, in 2009, with actress Meena in the lead role. She also acted as Thirupura Sundari in Vikatan Telvistas, ‘Thendral’, on Sun TV and in Tamil soap, Mamiyar Thevai on Zee Tamil, where she played Gayathri.
