His father was a prominent star in Tollywood who acted in five hundred films in the lead, supporting, and cameo roles. Manoj was born on 20 May 1983 to actor Mohan Babu and his wife, Manchu Nirmala Devi. Manoj Kumar made his film debut at an early age when he acted as a child artist in Major Chandrakanth that released in 1993. Subsequently, he was offered to play many child roles including his father’s films where he narrated his child role effectively. Later, he played his first lead role as a hero in ‘Donga Dongadi’ which was a 2004 Telugu action comedy film and a remake of Tamil film ‘Thiruda Thirudi’. Thus, he got subsequent offers in movies and appeared in a movie ‘Sri’ (2005) and ‘Raju Bhai’ (2007). In 2008, his film ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa.?’ released which had melodious music but was an average success at the box office.
