Shanthi Anand

Shanthi Anand is a renowned actress in the Tamil industry. She did over 50 soap operas and an appreciable number of quality films. Shanthi completed her schooling in St.Anthony’s school Chennai and Bachelor's from SIET college Chennai. Shanthi never thought of becoming an actress through her companions kept prompting her to become one from college days itself.

It was her aunt who encouraged to enter the industry. Shanthi’s father always wanted her to complete her Graduation before taking up her passion for the career. But little did he knew his daughter’s destiny? It all started with the lead role in a Malayalam serial as her summer pass time. Her entry into the film industry was with Parthiepan’s Sugamana Sumaigal. Her role as a mother of four young girls in Dheerga Sumangali got immense critical appreciation.

Shanthi also believes that she has a great sense of humor which she needs to showcase to the audience, and that is one of the main reasons for her not accepting some typical roles in the industry. After getting married to AnandBabu on December 15th, 1995, Shanthi stopped acting in between for few years as she wanted to dedicate her complete time to her family. With the passage of time, Anand encouraged her to restart her acting career with some really good roles and characters as he had confidence in her that she would select her contracts wisely. The couple is blessed with four children. But they were not destined to stay together forever and had to part their ways in 2013.
