Adithyan was an Indian film score and soundtrack composer. He was born on 9 April 1954 in Tamil Nadu and took his last breath on 5 December 2017 leaving a void in the mainstream musical field of south Indian cinema.

Adithyan has composed predominantly for Tamil movies, but he also received an offer to score music even in Telugu and Malayalam films. Also, he created many Tamil Pop & Remix albums in India and Malaysia.

Adithyan made his musical debut as a composer with movie ' Amaran' (1992) in which he made Actor Karthik became a playback singer for the first time. T.M.Sountherrajan, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, and K. J. Yesudas gave voices to the other songs in the movie.

In the same year 1992, he made his debut as a singer in the movie 'David Uncle' which was directed by Guna. the music was composed by him, and the song he sang was 'Neeyum Thirudan,'' and other two songs were sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, S. P. Sailaja (Thattungadi) and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Swarnalatha ('Thottutta').

In the year 1994, a movie named 'Seevalaperi Pandi' released, and the movie featured five tracks with lyrics written by Vairamuthu and K Rajeswar. The songs like "Kilakku Sivakayile" and "Thirunelveli Seemayile" were chartbusters. This film established him as a renowned music composer in Kollywood.

In the year 1995, two of his films ’Lucky Man;’ and 'Asuran ' released and many songs from these two movies became chartbusters. The songs from the movie Asuran such as ‘Vathikuchu Pathikuchu‘ sung by Adithyan, R. J.Sabareesh.

Sujatha' and the song 'O Vaanmathi' by Unnikrishnan, and Sangeetha were very popular. Adithyan’s songs from the movie ‘Lucky Man’ like “Lucky lucky man," "Cokka cola," "Kooam Rootu" were chartbusters.

In the year 1994, Aruva Velu, a film directed by P. S. Bharathi Kannan. The film’s score and soundtrack were film composer Adithyan’s compositions. The movie features five tracks with lyrics penned down by Panchu Arunachalam, Vairamuthu, and Madurakaasi.

The five tracks included two duets by singers Shahul Hameed, Swarnalatha( 'Maruthayee Ninaichu') and another one by Mano, Malgudi Subha, Adithyan (Vanthachu Nalla Kalam). Three numbers 'Kaadu Mazha Sollum' (Adithyan), 'Yeamma Indha Rathiri' ( Sujatha Mohan) and'Rohttu Pakkam' (S. P. Sailaja).

He started his career as a sound designer and later on went to compose music for more than 30 movies. He is also famous for hosting a cooking show on Jaya TV called 'Aadithyan's Kitchen' which had a successful run for six years; He passed away in Hyderabad when he was 63.
