M Saroja

M Saroja was born in 1933 in her hometown. She is an Indian actress and a female comedian. Saroja preferably works in the Tamil film industry. Saroja is from an industry-based family. At the very young age of fourteen, she has been introduced to the film industry by the director K.Subramaniam.

Her first debut was in the film Sarvadhikari, where she enacted the role of M.G.Ramachandran’s cousin who was the leading Tamil actor of that time. She not only debuted in Tamil but in different languages like Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. In the year 1953, she has been seen in the movie named Gumastha and acted as Pappi. After the gap of a year (1957), she enacted in Pathini Deivam. Then she did “Kalyana Parisu” in 1959.

Later she acted in her last movie named “Adhutha Veetu Penn.” The film "Kalyana Parisu" has been very special for Saroja because in this film her co-star K. A. Thangavelu, who was none other than her future husband. She married to K.A Thangavelu in Madurai Murugan Temple in 1959, on their 100th day of the movie they made together.

After two years of marriage (1961), the couple had a daughter named Sumathi. Saroja’s husband died in 1994. On 2nd April 2012, Saroja left this world in T. Nagar, Chennai, India. Her death was caused due to Cardiac arrest. Her family was in a state where they can’t even express their sadness.

The loss of such a great actor will be counted always. Saroja died at the age of seventy-nine years. Saroja was also honored by few awards like the Kalaimamani Award, which is an appreciation award given to her, Tamilnadu State Film Honorary award and also the Sivaji Ganeshan award in 2002. Her memories will be immortal in the film industry.
