Abirami Ramanathan

Abirami Ramanathan is a South Indian producer, writer, and businessman. He has done predominant work in the Tamil film Industry. He was born on the 26th of August 1947. He is currently a resident of Chennai, Tamilnadu. Abirami Ramanathan was a student of the well-known college ‘College of Engineering, Guindy’ in Chennai, where he earned his B.E degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ramanathan is married to Mrs. Nallammai Ramanathan and has a daughter, Meenakshi, and son, Siva.

Ramanathan has worked in many films as a writer and producer. He was the writer of the movie ‘Unnoda Ka,’ which got released in 2016 and directed by R.K. The film is a Tamil Romantic comedy that featured Aari and Maya in the lead roles. He was the producer of the TV series Abirami which aired in 2009 and ended in 2010. This series featured Gautami, Kalpana, and Krishnakumar in the lead roles.

Apart from contributing to the film industry, Ramanathan is also a businessman. He is currently serving as the managing director of Abhirami Mega Mall, located in Purasawalkam, Chennai. This is a shopping mall constructed in 2003. It has four theaters inside, ‘Abirami 7 star theatre,’ ‘Shree Annai Abirami,’ ‘Robot Bala Abirami,’ and ‘Swarna Sakthi Abirami.’

He has received many awards. Some of which are: ‘Kalaimamani’ award from the government of TamilNadu, ‘Raja Sando Award’ for the year 2001 by the government of TamilNadu, ‘Star Cinema Award,’ ‘The Seva Ratna’ award for the year 2002-2003 by the Centenarian Trust, Sri.R.Venkatraman, ‘Aanmeega Semmal’ award and ‘Entrepreneur of the year’ award by Velammal College, ‘MGR Sivaji’ award for the year 2012, ‘Honorable Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’ award and many more such awards were presented to him.
