Madhumitha is a south Indian actress who predominantly acted in Tamil and Telugu films only since her debut in 2002. When she was pursuing her studies, it was director Muppalaneni Shiva who had spotted her during a college cultural programme, and had signed her in a film ‘Sandhade Sandhadi’ which was a hit.
Initially, she played supporting roles in Telugu film and later got chances to play a few lead roles. Her second film in Telugu ‘Puttintiki Ra Chelli’ with Arjun, ran for 275 days and got her noticed as an actress. When she was riding on her success in Telugu films, she was signed for Parthiban’s ‘Kudaikul Mazhai’ which was an average success.
Director Ezhil had cast her in ‘Amudhae’ which too did not do well. Then came ‘Englishkaaran’, ’Naalai’ and ‘Aanivaer’. She got busy with more Tamil films and got a better opportunity in films like ‘Arai Enn 305il Kadavul’,’Yogi’ etc. After her debut in Tamil cinema, she even acted in one Malayalam and Kannada movie.

Swapna Madhuri (Madhumitha) was born on 20 August 1984, is a South Indian actress. Madhumitha did her starting movies under her birth name Swapna Madhuri with Telugu film named Sandade Sandadi (2002) doing a crucial supporting role.
