Rajeev Tamil

Rajeev is a popular Tamil actor, who had been working in Tamil and Malayalam films. He was born in Madurai as Rajashekar to Balasubramanya Mudaliyar and Rajeshwari Ammal. His father was a government employee working in Indian Telephone Industries in Bangalore. Rajeev did his schooling in Bangalore ITI Vidya Mandir. Rajeev was interested in acting during his school days. After graduating, he started to seek opportunities in cinema. In his initial stages, he was rejected by many of the filmmakers. Frustrated Rajeev worked in Taj Coromandel in Chennai as a waiter. He participated in a dance competition and won the first prize. His colleagues and friends encouraged him to try again in the dream factory, after his victory in the contest. During his job hunt, Rajeev met one of his classmates, Rajendra Prasad at a dubbing theater. Prasad introduced him to “Raveendran,” a Malayalam actor. Raveendran tested his voice and asked him if he was interested in dubbing. Rajeev, who was longing to enter the cinema industry, didn’t want to waste the golden opportunity and nodded instantly. His first dubbing was for Raveendran in the film Oru Thalai Ragam, directed by “Vijaya T Rajendar.” His second dubbing was also for Raveendran in Vasantha Azhaipugal. Rajendar was impressed with the expressions of Rajeev during the dubbing. He provided him an opportunity to play a negative role in Rail Payanangalil. In Palaivanacholai, a film about four friends and a girl, Rajeev played one among the lead roles with “Chandrasekhar,” “Thyagu” and “Janagaraj.” The film has Suhasini Mani Ratnam in the lead role. Rajeev played as the solo hero in Mull Illadha Roja. Rajeev has played a huge number of films as a villain and character artist. He has not only acted in Tamil and Malayalam films but in Telugu and Kannada too. In the Kannada version of Aval Oru Thodarkathai, titled Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu directed by “K. Balachander,” Rajeev played the main role, drunkard brother of the lead. His performance as a strict brother in law in Kadhal Kottai gained a huge appreciation from the audiences. He played a significant role in “Jayam” the debut film of Jayam Ravi and Sadaf Mohammed Sayed (Sadha). Rajeev dubbed for Sayaji Shinde in Bharathi and Poovellam Un Vasam. His dubbing helped “Mohanlal” in “Siraichalai” and “Aran.” Rajeev’s recent Malayalam film was Pottas Bomb in 2013. Rajeev had been a part in many films directed by Rajendar. He played in Enga Veetu Velan as the father of “Silambarasan.” Rajeev’s parents died one after the other all in a sudden. This made Rajeev worry and he felt lonely. When everyone insisted him to get married, Rajeev denied it. After a long reiterate by his brothers, he married Rani. Rajeev is blessed with two children Meena Kamakshi and Kiran Surya.
