Usha Krishnan is a 29 years old promising, an upcoming Indian director who debuted with the 2016 movie Raja Manthiri. She was born in the year of 1988 on 18 January in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She did her schooling from Seva Mandir Higher Secondary School and graduated from the College Media Science, Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

From her younger age, she showed keen interests in skits and plays. In an interview, she told that she used to write scripts for skits and plays and used to perform in her village. She was active in the film industry since 2011. She was an associate of the director, Suseenthuran. He is a famous Indian film director and scriptwriter. He is recognized for his work Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu which also marks his directorial debut.
