Sharath Jothi is a Chennai-based filmmaker and screenwriter. He was from a filmmaking family and was born in Chennai. At the age of 5 years, he was dancing in front of his teachers and batch mates to the song “Muqabla'' from the film “Kadhalan” for a farewell day function and was appreciated by all. From childhood, his imagination roams around the galaxies, stars and out-of-the-world things and is attracted to science fiction films and correlates them with reality. His parents tried to create his hobbies in painting and art by providing him the colours and brushes, but he had some other plan in mind. After his 12th exam, he did graduation in Architecture, as he thought to do some creative things.

He was more interested in photography and graphic designing than architecture and did a short-term course on the same. He studied a part-time visual multimedia course at the Image Multimedia Institute for better exposure to visual effects-based animation films. The faculty and centre head of the institute Mr. Kannan and Mr. Alexander encouraged him a lot to try different varieties. After completing his Graduation in Architecture, He chose the path of his passion rather than making money which will make him happy in the future. During the whole journey, his family backed him with financial and mental support. He went to Sydney for his post-graduation in Animation and VFX at UTS, the University of Technology Sydney. During his post-graduation, he met Anucharan, who was his roommate and fond of the film.

The same passion brought them closer, and they started making short films on their own. Their 10th short film “The Messiah'' got the best short film award in the year 2009. This short film allowed him the opportunity to go to the Kalaignar TV show Naalaya Iyakunar-2, which means “Future Director ''. After that, both of them made another 12 short films till 2015. He approached the famous director Shankar with his short films and was short-listed for assisting him in the films I and 2.0. His dream came true, and he got the right platform to expose his imagination to reality. He not only assisted Shankar but acted as a script supervisor on the shooting sets of 2.0. According to him, to make a good film you have to be a good observer and to do proper detailing.
