S Sathiyamoorthy is a South Indian film Director, who has worked predominantly in Tamil movie industry. His full name is Sathiya Moorthy Saravanan, and it also spelled as Sathya Moorthy. He was born on January 1st in the year 1977 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. S Sathiya Moorthy started his career as a director in the Tamil film industry by directing the movie CSK (Charles Shafiq Karthika) of the genre thriller, which hit the theatres in the year 2015.
S Sathiyamoorthy has formerly worked in
S Duet Movies as an assistant to the talented Indian film actor, director, and producer Prakash Raj. As an assistant director, Sathiyamoorthy Saravanan had a good rapport with actor Sharran Kumar during the shooting for the Tamil movie "Inidhu Inidhu." This acquaintance with Sharran Kumar gave him an opportunity to recognize his talent and hence Sathiyamoorthy signed him to play the lead role alongside
for his debut movie CSK, which was produced by Saravanan, also a debutante.
This film marks the reunion of actors Sharran and Narayan, who had earlier worked together in the movie "Inidhu Inidhu," a Prakash Raj Production. In this movie which takes place mostly in a mall, Sathiyamoorthy has skillfully shot and edited scenes from different malls at different times and made them look like the same mall. He felt that this shooting was challenging but in turn led to being highly educational. In an interview, Sathiyamoorthy gives his opinion on short films that they are not given the deserved limelight.
He even says that since many movies keep getting released, moviegoers get confused and end up not going to the cinema. He expresses his thought that he found releasing his film much tedious than filming. As a debutante, he found it difficult to get a chance as there is a lot of competition which is also healthy. The Hindu listed his debut movie as one of the top 20 Tamil films of the year 2015.
Sathiyamoorthy feels that women are capable of playing demanding action roles yet they do not get enough opportunity for the same. He highly appreciates the risk taken by the movie's lead actress Jai Quehaeni and her determination to produce quality work while performing a scene in which she had to be in a water container for two whole days without showing unease or withholding from performing. Sathiya Moorthy Saravanan has also worked under cinematographer KV Guhan as an assistant.
