Ali Akbar

Ali Akbar is a Malayali screenwriter, director, and lyricist hailing from India. He has been the director of over 20 Malayalam movies. His famous works include KudumbaVaarthakal, Pai Brothers, and Junior Mandrake. Apart from movies, Ali Akbar tried to make a niche for himself in the field of politics. In 2014, he represented AAP for the elections in the Vatakara constituency. Upon defeat, he once again gave it a chance during the Kozhikode Corporation elections under the banner of BJP. His place of birth is Meenangadi, in Wayanad.

In 2010 he began shooting with the controversy king Thilakan. The name of this flick was Achan. The decision was a very bold move, and received strong reactions. Miscreants, who wished to protest this choice, stoned his car. He continued to stay unfazed by this experience. His first movie was Maamalakallappurath Pappu from the year 1988. He tested his songwriting skills for movies like Senior Mandrake and Bamboo Boys. Seeing the positive response, he continued to experiment with songwriting just so that he could hone his skills. He wishes to be an all-in-one package when it comes making a film.

He does not like depending on other people to realize his dream of completing a project. His wife's name is Louisiana. She works with him on his projects. She is a producer. They have a daughter together, who is greatly interested in music. Their daughter has even composed music for their ventures. G. Venu Gopal, their daughter, is a vocalist and has sung songs for their movies.

His career in politics was a short-lived one. Even though he contested from different constituencies both the time, he still didn't manage to get elected. Even though he was a crowd favorite, his dream did not materialize.
