Murali Vijay

Murali Vijay is an Indian cricketer who mostly plays international tests for the country. He was born on April 1, 1984, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. From a very young age, he took fancy of the bat and ball game. At seventeen, he started playing club cricket. He quickly rose through the ranks in Chennai but couldn't manage to give stellar performances. The state authorities selected him for their team. In Ranji Trophy, he showed his talent to everyone and was the third highest run-scorer of the season. He played consistently like this in India A team. His stellar form with the bat ensured that the Indian selectors pick him for the national squad. The captain selected him only when the International Cricket Council banned team's permanent opener Gautam Gambhir.

His career has suffered through injuries and bad form as well. Though he has batted in all international formats for the country, but he could only manage to achieve success in the five-day tests. He is an active participant in Indian Premier League and competed with Chennai Super Kings for the first six seasons. However, after the sip in his performance an influx of better players like Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum, they sold him to Delhi Daredevils. He didn't perform well for Delhi as well, and they auctioned him off too after some seasons. Currently, he is a part of Kings XI Punjab and sometimes fills in the position of captain if David Miller, a South African powerhouse, isn't leading. As of 2017, many young and talented cricketers have risen, and because of Vijay barely gets to compete in the international matches.

He is busy with Ranji trophy. He has won only one man of the match award in the international circuit. The game was against Zimbabwe. He has seven tests and one ODI centuries under his belt.
