Gandhi is an Indian human rights activist, and Political speaker who was the pillar of the May 17 Movement. This movement initially campaigned for the rights and justice for killing the Sri Lankan Tamils in the Civil War. He has also spoken in the Geneva human rights sessions in the United Nations for the past three years in support of the nations who were without states, and communities who have faced war crimes against the forces. He has also represented the Tamil society in Permanent people’s Tribunal for Sri Lanka in Germany (2013). On May 29, Gandhi, along with four others were arrested by the Tamil Nadu police when they tried to hold an obituary for the Tamils, who were killed in the fight between the Sri Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers.
He also delivered a speech in the United Nations saying that the government is spending fewer amounts in education where they should use more. He spoke about education in India and freedom of speech. He was an activist who talked about how literacy is increasingly inclining towards the rich and denied to the lower ones.
