Suba Veerapandian is a Tamil author, political activist, orator, and former film artist. He was born on 22nd April 1952 in Karaikudi. He graduated from Alagappa Government Arts College and a master’s degree in Tamil Literature from Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai. He graduated with a gold medal in Tamil literature. After his education, he worked as a typist-cum-clerk at Madras University. Subsequently, he joined as a tutor in Tamil at SIVET College and as a lecturer of Tamil at Sentamil College. In 2007, he became the general secretary of a political party Dravida Iyyakka Tamilar Peravai. This party aims the promotion of Ambedkrarite, Dravidian, and Marxist ideals in the State.
He also wrote articles and poems for several journals like Chutti, Viduthalai, Unmai, and Thenmozhi. In 1984, he published Red Flower of Tamil Ealem, exposing the anti-Tamil violence in Sri Lanka. He then served as editor-in-chief for Ini, Nandan Vazhi, and Thaayagam. He is the editor of the fortnightly magazine Karunchattai Tamilar (Black Shirt Tamils). In 2021, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin named him as a member of the Advisory Committee for Tamil Nadu Text Book and Education Services Corporation. He also became chairperson of the Social Justice Monitoring Committee of Tamil Nadu.
