Born on 26th September 1986, Abhimanyu Ramanandan was an Indian actor who mainly worked in regional Malayalam movies. He became widely popular after featuring in the music video of the hit Tamil song “Mounam Sollum Varthaigal” in 2017, opposite actress
. He made his debut in the film industry with the lead role of Aravind in the short Malayalam thriller “Paambum Koneem: Snake and Ladder” (2017). The movie gained him much appreciation and soon he bagged a supporting role in Rahul Riji Nair’s “Ottamuri Vellicham” (2017). The movie was showered with the Best Film, Editor and Character Actress (
) awards at the 2017 Kerala State Film Awards.
Vinitha Koshy worked with Abhimanyu in this movie as well and was honored with the Special Jury Award at the same event. Ramanandan’s last performance was as the bus driver in Riji Nair’s next movie “Dakini” (2018). Tragically, soon after the October release of the movie, Ramanandan passed away after he was involved in a car accident. He had been traveling home from the International Film Festival in Thiruvananthapuram when around midnight on the night of 9th December 2018, his bike was rammed by a car. The accident occurred on National Highway 47, near Assan Memorial in Thonnaykkal. Ramanandan was rushed to a nearby medical college by the police but he died on his way to the hospital. He has a wife, Arya Raj and twin daughters, Janani and Janaki.
