Sruthi - Malayalam

Sruthi Sasidharan is an Indian singer and voice-over artist. She mainly worked in the Malayalam film industry. She also sang songs for other languages such as Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, and Hindi. She was born on March 25, 1993, in Kozhikode, Kerala. Sruthi was passionate about music from the young age of three. Her parents noticed it and gave her training in music. She took classical music training from her guru Baburaj and later Krishnakumar. She completed her schooling at GBHSS Manjeri. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum. Shruthi was a performer from her childhood. She performed in various stages, competitions and radio shows. After graduating, she continued her career in engineering.

However, to pursue her passion, she quit her engineering career. Initially, she sang songs for ad films, giving backing vocals for various film scores. She debuted as a playback singer for the Malayalam film Akashamittayi (2017). In the film she sang the song “Kiya Kiva”. A few of her singles are “Ennomale En Jeevane”, “Chingathin Pon Veyil”, “Nee Varumoru Neram”, and “Hey Hey”. Sruthi then sang “Mayilla Njan” for the Malayalam film Queen (2018). She released many singles but most of her fame came after singing “Kadhale”, from the movie Maradona (2018). She earned several award nominations for this song. Her first Tamil single was “Usurey”.

Then she worked with music director Leandeer Lee Marthy on the song “Nee En” from the Tamil film Dha Dha 87 (2018). She released her singles Prem” and “Thiruyodonnu Njan” in 2018. For the Malayalam movie Grandfather (2019), she sang “Kannil Kannil”. “Naanu Neenu” from Pailwaan (2019) is another Kannada language song. Her first Tamil song was “Vaanam Vittu” from the movie Bailwaan (2019). She also sang “Ivide Naam” from the Malayalam film Ennudu Para I Love You Ennu (2019). “Vellai Poove” is another Malayalam song from the film Hi Hello Kadhal (2019). Her first Hindi film song is “Akhiyaan Milavanga” from Commando 3 (2019). In 2021, she released two singles— “Parthaen Rasithaen” and “Usurey Rush” remix. Sruthi married her long-time partner, Deepak Sunil in 2020. Later, she moved to the US with her husband.
