Besides Malayalam, she has recorded songs in many Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. After being trained in Carnatic Classical music and the ancient Western style of Violin, she has performed at concerts and stage shows around the world.
She work as a Professor at Malabar Medical College and Drs. Lakshmi S, Associate Professor of Gynecology at Calicut Medical College. she learned the basics of Carnatic Music from his grandmother Kamala Subrahmaniam, a former All India Radio artist and continued his education and training under Geeta Devi Vasudevan and Madurai Rajaram after moving to Chennai. Coming from a music-loving family, Kavya started at Western Violin at a young age and received guidance and training from Albert Vijayan Japheth.
she completed her Higher Secondary School in Silver Hills Public School in Kozhikode. She got her (B.E) Engineering degree from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Coimbatore, worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions before retiring to pursue a career in music. sHe is married to Vidhyasagar Venkatesan and currently lives in Chennai.
