Nikhil Raj is an Indian singer who sings for Malayalam industry. Nikhil made his debut as a solo singer with the song Naattuvazhiyile in the year 2011 in the movie Rathinivedam. Nikhil is a successful singer in Tollywood industry and had sung for eight movies in his career.

Some of his works include movies like Money Back Policy, Cousins, Mallu Singh, Aakaashangalil, and Kaattumaakkaan. Recently Nikhil worked for the movie Kaattumaakkaan with the title song Kaattumaakkaan in the year 2015.

Shan Johnson was a young music director and singer. He had contributed in Malayalam and Tamil movies as a songwriter. Her first movie as a composer was ‘His Name is John’. She has given many live performances and was a part of the music band ‘The Sound Bulb’ which was established by her with her friends. She was born in Chennai to Johnson and Rani Johnson. Her father Johnson was a music composer and had composed many songs for Malayalam movies. He had won the National award for his work in the industry. Her father died of a heart attack in 2011. In 2012, she lost her brother Renn who met with a bike accident. She was a well-trained singer and had good knowledge which she had taken from her father. She used to compose songs for Malayalam movies. During her father’s death, he was working on four movies as a music composer. His projects were completed by Shan. She gave music for ‘His Name is John’ directed by T John. She had written the lyrics of the song ONV Kurup, which was sung by ONV Kurup, Aparna Rajeev, and Nikhil Mathew. The song was a huge hit and one of the chartbusters of that year. She has even worked in Hindi movies as a lyricist. She gave songs for movies like ‘Thira’ by Vineeth Sreenivasan. She was trained vocalist in Western and Carnatic music. She had sung songs like ‘Praise The Lord,’ ‘Paravai’ and ‘Engeyum Eppothum.’ She had written the song ‘Raavumaayave’ for the latest Malayalam ‘Vettah’ movie by Rajesh Raman Pillai starring Manju Warrier and Kunchacko Boban. She was a part of musical band ‘Sound Bulb’ which was established by her with her friends. The band had given the song Manasin Madiyile, which was a tribute to Renn, her brother who died due to a bike accident. She died on 5 Feb 2016, in her Chennai apartment due to a heart attack. Her body was also taken to her native place in Thrissur, and buried beside her brother and father. The industry showed their sadness on losing a good young talent. She began her career in the industry as an assistant to music composer to G Devarajan in her early 20’s, and her first independent song came in the form of Aavaram. She composed songs for around 300 Malayalam movies. Shan Johnson got indulged in music in the early age because of her father, and he was her teacher as well. He guided her throughout her life as long as he lived. She had a god gifted voice. Other than this she also worked as Marketing head at City Mall, Chennai. She had lost her brother in 2012 and after losing her father in 2011, she used to live with her mother. She began her career in the year 2013 as a music composer with the Malayalam film called “His Name Is John.” She also gave songs for the music in the movies “ Praise The Lord” which released in 2014 and in other Tamil movies, all of which were hits. She used to write her own songs and used to sing them, and most of them are Western music or Carnatic music. She also wrote a song with Hindi lyrics for the movie called Vettah. She reached her home on 4th February 2016, thursday at 9.30 pm after the recording. She was supposed to travel to Kochi with her mother, and her mother was at their relatives house in Mylapore. Her mother tried calling her, and when she didn’t pick it up even after many attempts, she informed her friends and asked them to reach her out. Her friends went to her place and informed the police when she didn’t respond to any of the door bells and knockings. Police after arriving there broke the door and entered the room. She was lying on her bed, and there was nothing which indicated murder or suicide. The body was sent for postmortem and doctors declared her dead due to a heart attack. She was suffering from medical problems as well and was using regular medication. Her body was buried with the bodies of her Father and Brother in Thrissur Nellikkunnu St. Sebastian Church, Thrissur. We will remember her always because of her great songs that she has given to us. May her soul rest in peace.

Manoj Krishnan

Manoj Krishnan was a singer famous for singing on Doordarshan TV. Manoj went to Chittoor Government College. He took his MA Degree from this college in music. He was associated with the Mathrubhumi Study Circle. He started his musical profession from Mathrubhumi Study Circle. In 1999, he released his first album. It was called Swami Sangeetham 2. He released this album along with K.G. Marcose on 18 August 1999. It included songs like Haritha Kaanana, Hariyum Haranum, Kumbhodaranu, etc. His second album was Nadodi Nrithaganagal Vol 2, released along with Madhu Perattupuram and various other artists. It was released on 24 August 2004, under the label of M.C. Audios & Videos. The album included songs like Chathiyan Chanthu, Dussala, Kaanana Kanyakamaar, etc. Another 2004 release was Ponnambalam 1 with Suma Suresh. In 2005, Sree Mookambika Theertham came in which Manoj worked along with Manjeswar, dated 10 June 2005. Songs like Akshara Maala, Devi Devaambike, Engine Njaan, etc, are on this album. Manoj worked with M.G. Anil on his next album Narayana Mandram released on 3 March 2006. It had songs like Om Krishna Janardhana, Om Krishna Remapathe, etc. Swamikkoru Kanikka was released on 10 November 2007. He worked with Arun and Vidhu Prathap for this project. Songs included in this album were Ayya Ninney, Gakamughapathi, Himakanamurugum, etc. Kulakkaattamma was released on 11 August 2008 featuring Sajeev Raman. Kailasam Valamvaykkum, Animeyyil, kulakkattoru Kaavunde, etc, were the songs on this album. Kripa Karo Bhagwan was another album released on 23 April 2010. It was his solo album with hit songs like Leke Shiv Ka Naam, Jai Gaanpati, Jai Govinda Jai, etc. After five years time, his last album was released on 14 November 2015. He worked with the world renowned artist Hariharan on this album. Vandeham Pamba, Pambe Ennum, Swami Kattil, etc, songs became very famous through this album. Along with albums, Manoj has also sung in Malayalam movies. More than 25 songs are under his name. He sang in movies like Sopanam, Subhadram, Mohitham, Thirakalkkapuram, and Manthrikochamma. Manoj has also tried his hand in background scoring and music direction. He has given music and background score for over 30 films. He has also worked in Tamil movies. He has sung various devotional songs. Also, he has presented in various visual channels in Malayalam and Tamil television. Manoj Krishnan died on 4 May 2016. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis. His treatment for cancer was going on in PVS Memorial Hospital, Kochi.
