Joshy Mangalath

Joshy Mangalath is an Indian film screenwriter who has also won many National Awards for his contribution to the industry. His debut film name was Ottaal which bagged him a National Award in the category of Best Screenplay. He was born on 30th of May in the year 1966 in Attingal, Kerala in India. He has completed his education from Edexel University, U.K. (United Kingdom). He has done MBA from there.

Along with being a screenwriter, he is also an HR and Admin Manager. Joshy also has its website named www.joshymangalath.com. His father’s name was “Sudheendran,” and mother name was “Lillykutty.” He has completed his high school from Nattakom Government Model high school which is situated in Kottayam district of Kerala. After that, he went to Changanacherry S.B College to complete his degree of graduation. Later on, he went to Calicut D.G.E and T Center to pursue a diploma in Electronics. After doing BBA, he went forward to pursue MBA in human resource management. He used to pen poems and short stories during his youth.

He also used to conduct many stage shows and used to sing. In a US based company situated in Dubai, he worked as an HR and Admin Manager. Whenever he got time, he used to write poems and stories. After that, he came into the field of screenwriting. As a screenplay writer, Ottaal was his first movie for which he has also won a National Award. Ottaal was a movie based on Russian writer named “Anton Chekhov” who is world famous for his writings.

The story of Ottaal was based on his short story named “Vanka” which is a story of a small boy working under a cobbler. The film was directed by Jayaraj. The film was released in the year 2014 and was a Malayalam film. Their names are Neil Joshy and Nayan Joshy. Joshy also has two sisters named Maya Mangalath and Jothy Mangalath. In his childhood, Joshy used to read books instead of playing with toys. His father was a book lover.
