Uday Ramachandran is an Indian playback singer, songwriter, Carnatic musician, and vocal coach. He and eight other "Ganabhooshanam" holders were born at Vaikom to parents Mr. V. N. Ramachandran and Mrs. V. N. Thankamani. Beginning in 1985, Sri Vaikom V.N. Rajan, the older brother of his father, served as his first music teacher. He has produced music for several Malayalam films and CDs. Ramachandran has more than 500 Malayalam song recordings. In India and internationally, he has appeared on stage at more than a hundred performances. In 2014, Ramachandran's music label Charu Creations debuted and produced several CDs.
At the R.L.V. Music Academy in Thrippunithura, he began his formal musical education. Sri N.P. Ramaswami taught him Carnatic music, and Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Mohan Kumar taught him Hindustani music. Throughout his time in high school and college, Ramachandran received awards for his talent and commitment. He took first place in the light music category of the 1999 All India Universities Youth Festival. In the light music competition, he won the MG University Youth Festival three times in a row, in 1998, 1999, and 2000.
He competed in the reality competition Gandharvasangeetham on Kairali TV. For All India Radio, Ramachandran worked as an announcer and 'B High' Grade Artist. He eventually worked in the healthcare sector as a manager and administrator. He worked as the administration manager for Lakshmi Hospital in Ernakulum from 1998 to 2007 and for Asha Hospital in Vatakara, Kozhikode, from November 2008 to December 2010.
