Bhagyalakshmi is a Carnatic music vocalist and a playback singer for Malayalam music industry. Her full name is Bhagyalakshmi Guruvayoor. Her father’s name is Guruvayoor Ramanathan. Bhagyalakshmi started learning music at the early age of 3 from her father, who is her first guru. After that she learned from Smt. Lekha Krishnakumar and Shri Venkateshwaran.
Her guru is Dr. VR Dileep Kumar, who finally trained her. At the age of 13, she did her first ‘Arangetta kacheri’ in Sri. Ranjini Sangeetha Sabha. She won many competitions of state and district level when she was in school and college. She has also appeared in musical TV show Raga Rathna. She is an All India Radio B Grade Artist. She is a vocalist for Mohiniyattam performances.
She learned Mohiniyattam dance form too and that gives her more confidence in vocals. She has performed in her college days as a dancer also. She also has a website for information about her experiences.
