Aby Tom Cyriac (D.O.B- 23 June 1989) is a Malayali music composer, famous among the younger lot of musicians. Apart from composing, he arranges and programs music as well. He is also an exponent of instruments like guitar, drums, and keyboard and sings songs as well. His works have earned him a very good reputation among the music directors of various film industries across India. Aby was born to Cyriac Thomas and Shaji Cyriac in Kanjirappally, Kottayam in the state of Kerala. As a child, he was hugely interested in music. He started working with choir groups in the church while he was just in the fifth standard. It was there that his interest in music rose. He started exploring more when he was introduced to Fr. Sebastian Vechookarottu, a priest and also a musician. These experiences of his childhood had a huge influence in shaping up his career. While doing his Bachelor of Commerce degree, he got his first opportunity to showcase his talent for music in films.
After that, he continued contributing to many leading music directors and composers and has never looked back. His work is not just limited to the Malayalam industry. He has also worked with composers from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industries as well. His vastness in arranging and programming music can be gauged from the fact that he has worked for more than 200 films and more than 100 jingles, which is extremely commandable. He debuted as a solo music composer with the Malayali movie “Second Innings” in 2013, but some technical error stalled the release of the movie. He then composed for the super hit Malayalam movie “
” in 2015. The success of “Pavada” opened up a lot of doors for him, landing him more interesting and exciting projects. He is a blooming music composer in the Malayalam film industry and a great find for the Indian music industry as a whole.
