Lalithasree is a yesteryear Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She acted mainly in supporting roles. Malayalam-Tamil actress Madhuri is her younger sister.
Lalitha Sree was born as Subhadra at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She has acted almost 460 cinemas in all south Indian languages. Lalithasree acted as Kamal Haasan’s heroine in his supposedly first movie Unarchigal in Tamil, but the film was not released due to technical issues. She was active in this industry during 1984-1989. She has dubbed her voice in all her films. Lalithasree did impressive roles in films such as K G George’s Adaminte Variyellu (1983), Bharathan’s Ithiri Poove Chuvanna Poove (1984), Joshiy’s Muhurtham 11.30 (1985), Keyar’s Aswathi (1991) and IV Sasi’s Balram vs. Tharadas (2006). She was also part of many Priyadarshan-Mohanlal comedy movies like Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu. Lalithasree-Jagathi Sreekumar comedy scenes were part of many of these movies.
Lalithasree is a familiar face to viewers of Malayalam cinema. As is the case with many other supporting artists, her contribution to cinema was forgotten by Malayali audience until Amrita TV sought to remind of her talent through their show Innalathe Tharam
She is married to Vijayasaradhi and has no children. Her adopted daughter, Suchithra and she runs a beauty parlour at Chennai now.
