Geetu Mohandas

Geethu Mohandas is a Malayalam actress, director. She was born on June 8,1981 in,Kannur, Kerala in India. She has acted in various Malayalam films. She adopted Geethu as her screen name. Her real name is Gayathri.She made her debut from “Onnu Mudhal Poojyam” in 1986 with Mohanlal in the lead role.

She has achieved two national awards for her socio-political film “Liars dice.” In 2009, she was awarded the IFFI Golden Lamp Tree Award for best film and director at the international film festival India . As an Actress, she got many awards such as ALA awards, Filmfare award south, Kerala state film award.

She studied in India as well as in foreign countries Malaysia and, Canada. She has a brother, Dr. ArjunDas. Her brother is a Nephrologist, currently living in the USA . On 14 November 2009, she married Rajeev Ravi, cinematographer at Kochi, Kerala. She has a daughter Aradhana. Geethu stole the heart of Malayalam film as she playeda fatherless child who discovered a father in an unknown telephone caller.

She is one of those female actresses who are avoided Being cast as a female lead.She has played Many challenging roles. Her first movie as an adult was “Life is Beautiful.” Her career’s highest point was “Akale”, for which she was awarded Kerala state award for best actress. She found her film production house in 2009 and produced a short fiction film Kelkkunnundo Are you listening. The film premiered at the International film festival.

Her first feature film The Liar’s dice received two national award.Her second feature film Moothon won the Global filmmaker award in 2016. Moothon was the opening film at MAMI 2019.
