Leelakrishnan starred in many famous dramas, including Mudiyanaya Puthran, Aswamedham, and Olivile Ormakal. In addition, he appeared in several films, such as Priyapetta Nattukare (2011), Stalin Shivadas (1999), Balyakalasakhi (2014), Viswaguru (2018), Naval Enna Jewel (2017), and Puzhayamma (2019). Leelakrishnan also acted in a telefilm, Bheemam, with Mammootty, the screenplay for which was written by MT Vasudevan Nair. He gained fame for his performances as the lead actor with the Kerala People's Arts Club (KPAC) for approximately 15 years.

His most notable accomplishment was receiving the Guinness World Record for his involvement in the film Vishwaguru (2019), which was produced in 51 hours and 2 minutes.
