Devan is a famous actor and political activist from Kerala. He started his career with Malayalam movies and later moved on to Tamil and Telugu movies as well. He also exploited the popularity of mini screen by lending life to many mini screen characters as well. He has been an integral part of serials such as Kudumbini telecasted by Asianet; devotional hit serials include and Sri Padmanabhan and so on. Devan is married to Suma, daughter of the famous Malayalam film director Ramu Karyat. They have a daughter Lakshmi. He was born at Trichur is 1952 as the son of Srinivasan and Vasanta. Devan has completed his higher studies in business management. He initially worked with the renowned director Hariharan and writer M.T Vasudevan Nair to produce a movie, Vellam. But unfortunately the movie turned out as a failure and Devan took up more acting assignments to clear the debts. Devan was once known as the handsome villain in the Malayalam movie industry. But in the serials, he got the opportunity to portray positive and important roles.

Devan started his career as a hero, but had to shift later to villain roles and character roles. This handsome actor was seen in pivotal roles in recent movies like Mr.Fraud, How old are you, Mannar Mathai Speaking, Immanuel, Simhasanam, etc. Devan also started a political party named Kerala People’s Party.
