1. Narendra Prasad

The best villain in Malayalam cinema, Narendra Prasad is a brilliant and accomplished actor. Though he has played many character roles, he is well remembered for the villain roles in Aaram Thampuran, Ekalavyan, Mayilpeelikkavu, and Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava. More than a film actor, Narendra Prasad made a name as a theater artist and the creator of the drama troupe Natyagriham. He won a State Award in 1993 for the Second Best Actor in the film Paithrukam. Meleparambil Aanveedu, Ammayane Sathyam, Alancheri Thamprakkal, and Ustaad are his other notable pictures.

2. Murali Malayalam

A National Award winning actor, Murali stepped into Malayalam cinema playing villain roles. The films Aadhaaram, Thalolam, Amaram, Neythukaran, and Veeralipattu, won him six State Awards. His notable villain roles are in the movies Kuttattan, The King, and Pranayakalam. He also made an impression in the mind of the audience like a politician, writer, and a theater artist. He started his career through the drama group of Narendra Prasad. Amaram, Chamayam, Kochi Rajavu, and Vinodayathra are his other pictures.

3. Siddique

Though Siddique has appeared in a variety of roles, his villain characters have brought him more acclaim and appreciation. The 1990 film In Harihar Nagar gave him a break in his film career. Then, the films Ravanaprabhu, Naran, Prajapathi, Alibhai, and Twenty 20 gave him more appreciation for the villainous characters. He has won many awards for the negative roles in the movies Bada Dosth, Madambi, Prajapathi, and Twenty 20.

4. Thilakan

The master of Malayalam cinema, Thilakan is the most adored and acknowledged actor in Kerala. With three National Awards and Nine State Awards, he passed away in 2012 at the age of 76. His villain role in the film Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal gained him popular attention and acclaim. Further, he got credited for the characters in the movies Kireedam, Perumthachan, Sandesam, Sphadikam, Minnaram, and Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala.

5. Devan

He is an accomplished actor and a social worker based in Kerala. He made his first attempt at acting in the picture Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, followed by New Delhi, Vaishali, Oozham, and Ramji Rao Speaking. Soon, he turned to villain roles which gained him more recognition as an actor. Nair Saab, Vietnam Colony, Ekalavyan, and Indraprasdham, and July 4 are some of his notable movies.

6. Ratheesh

In most of his films, Ratheesh appeared as a villain character. The character Mohan Thomas in the picture Commissioner made him famous even among the new generation of Kerala. Rajavinte Makan, Unaru, Kashmeeram, Nirnayakam, and 19 April are some of his notable movies. Two of his children, Pranav and Parvathy, have also stepped into the film industry recently. Ratheesh also appeared in the pictures Vazhiyorakazchakal, Munnettam, Yuvathurki, and Gangotri.

7. Jayasurya

A versatile and brilliant Malayalam actor, Jayasurya is also famous for his negative roles. He won the award for the Best Villain in the 2014 Asianet Film Awards for the movie Iyobinte Pusthakam. His negative characters in the movies Classmates, Arabikkatha, and LollyPop brought him much appreciation. In 2016, he got a Special Jury Mention at the National Awards ceremony for his pictures Lukka Chuppi, and Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam.

8. Kalabhavan Mani

He is a legendary actor, singer, and mimicry artist who has gained an honorable place in Malayalam cinema. Though he is famous as a character artist, many of his films which portrayed him as a villain also proved to be successful. His negative characters in the pictures Kattathoru Penpoovu, Chotta Mumbai, Endiran, and Papanasam are worth appreciating. He won the 2007 Asianet Film Award for the Best Villain for the movie Chotta Mumbai.

9. Keerikkadan Jose

The most dreaded goonda ever in Malayalam cinema, Mohan Raj, better known as Keerikkadan Jose made a name as a villain through the film Kireedam. In most of his movies, he has appeared only in the negative roles. Chenkol, Cabinet, Vishnu, Aaram Thampuran, Hitler, and Mr. Brahmachari are his other notable pictures. He has also made appearances in a couple of Tamil and Telugu films.

10. Spadikam George

The 1995 film Spadikam gave a break in the career of the actor George, who later came to be known as Spadikam George. In the movie, he played the character of a police officer Kuttikkadan, the antagonist against Mohanlal. Further, the pictures Superman, Lelam, Pathram, Thenkashipattanam, and Kunjikoonan made him more famous as a villain. He also tried many comic roles in the pictures Hallo, Mayamohini, and Kammath & Kammath.
