Dhanya Krishna Kumar

Dhanya Krishna Kumar, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a famous Malayalam journalist. She is currently a resident of Bangalore (Karnataka), where she is the Principal Correspondent at Business World- an Indian business magazine. Her father Krishnakumar, Velayudhan, is the Founder, CEO, and MD at Symphony TV & Entertainment Pvt Ltd - the first accredited media house that has been approved by the Government of Kerala. This suggests that an inclination towards the field of media and journalism runs throughout the family.

Dhanya completed her schooling at St. Thomas Residential School, Mukkola (Thiruvananthapuram) in 1996. After that, she completed her MA (Masters in Arts) from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2001 and her Post Graduate Diploma from Asian College of Journalism in 2004. She dedicatedly pursue a career in the media world.

In the initial days, Dhanya worked as a Freelance Content Developer at Global Trent Track. She has a diverse portfolio with various skills such as Radio Broadcasting, Content Writing, Journalism, Media Relations, Corporate Communications, Storytelling, Editorial, and a lot more. Her prior work experience includes handling Public Relations at Gems Education. She has also worked as a Media Advisor to the Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala, as a Senior Business Correspondent at The Times of India (Bangalore), and as a Producer/ Copy Editor at Times Now and NDTV Profit. In her professional life, Dhanya has explored many jobs of Media ad Journalism and worked with various reputable and top-most media houses of the country. She also has a strong LinkedIn presence and her profile, including several qualifications and a varied skill set, is very impressive.

She has also written an award-winning story titled 'The Sun in the Backyard', which was published in the Business World. This story was declared the Best Business Feature, and Dhanya won the 11th annual PoleStar Award in 2008. The PoleStar Foundation, which recognizes exceptional talent among Indian media professionals of IT and Business Journalism, awarded her with a prize of Rupees One Lakh. She has many more awards to her name.
