K Sankunni was a Film Editor who primarily worked in the Malayalam film Industry. He was married to Indira Sankunni and had two sons and two daughters. He edited 300-plus films, mostly Malayalam and some Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. He won the Kerala State Film Award in 1988 in the Best Editor category for New Delhi (1987), the Cine Technicians Award for Gauravam in 1991, the Matrubhumi Award and the Kerela Film Critics Award 1999-2000 for Patram (1999). He died on 28 February 2001 of a heart attack.
