Dj StrawZ

DJ Strawz is a South Indian disc jockey and remix artist. He hails from Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram, also known as Trivandrum, in Kerala. DJ Strawz attended school at the DVMNHSS in Maranalloor, in Trivandrum.

In 2009, DJ Strawz started attending college at the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala from where he graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Management in 2013. DJ Strawz began his career in 2007, but it was while studying at the college that DJ Strawz truly learned how to be a disc jockey.

DJ Strawz worked with DJ Trivandrum events group since June 2007 and DJ Kerala events group since 2007. He worked with Best DJ Kerala event services since July 2012. He worked in the event service department of the Sales & Marketing department of Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces. He became a Sales Executive at Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces in June 2013. He has been working mainly as a freelance disc jockey since June 2010. DJ Strawz uses songs and music from Bhangra, hip hop, pop house, electro house, Bollywood, commercial R&B and Electronic Dance Music among many other genres in his remixes.

Critics praise his remix to be like a partially complete painting. He is known for his unique Whidbey style sound which he creates by maximizing the beats in his tracks with his sound effects. DJ Strawz has performed over a hundred shows at live concerts, corporate events, weddings, open air shows, night clubs, dance clubs, cultural events, private events, college fests and regional events among many others. He also performed for corporate clients like Philips, Taj, Leela Palace, Marco Polo, Sahara India, Emirates Airlines, Honda, IBM and Infosys among many others.

DJ Strawz’ most popular gig would be KTM Orange Day Pune, a racing event organized by KTM India sports bike manufacturing company on 13th September 2014. He also performed at the 17th Annual Night at Toonz Animation Technopark on 30th October 2015. DJ Strawz’ most recent gig was a live concert at the Cape College of Engineering in Kerala on 24th March 2017. He also performed a live concert at the Marthandam College of Engineering and Technology in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu on 27th February 2017.
