Salim Baba is an Indian director, predominantly working in the Mollywood industry. He is also a scriptwriter, actor, fitness trainer, and stunt master. Baba hails from Sreemoolanagaram, Kerala. He resides at his home in Kanjoor, Parappuram. Baba is an ardent Kalari practitioner, karate master, and expert masseuse. He has directed six movies, which include Rapid Action Force, Pramukhan, released in 2009; Mohitham, which came out in 2008; and Gunda, released in 2014. His other works are Lolans and Valiyangadi. He is working on his seventh movie, titled Peppatti. He has acted in films of many languages and wishes to be known as a cinema worker more than anything else.
Baba had left his home to go to Madras to act in movies. He performed in the 1978 movie directed by Sasikumar Bharyayum Kamukiyum and in Chakrayudham directed by Sreemoolanagaram Vijayan. After returning home, Baba worked under his father, Hydrose, an acupuncture specialist. In 1990, he returned to the film industry by acting in the directorial debut of Pradeep, Athirathan, as the villain of the story, Pratapachandran.
