Pradeep worked on the film's script for more than five years. Saji Thomas has revealed that the film is based totally on his life. Pradeep has already purchased copyrights and personality rights for the project.

“Vimaanam” was released on 22^nd December 2017. Saji Thomas’s biography inspired the film. Saji Thomas was born deaf and blind. He planned and built a lightweight aircraft despite his disability.

Venkidi is the central character of the story. He dropped out of school after bullying. At school, he got teased for wearing a 'hearing aid.' He grew interested in aeronautics after reading the Wright Brothers' story in school. He falls in love with Janaki, his best friend. As he grew older, she served as a source of inspiration for his aspirations. Finally, Venkidi achieves his aim of building his airplane and flying it above his community. Everyone who mocked Venkidi for his passion for aircraft design is now silent and stunned. Janaki's father discovered that Venkidi stole his automobile to access a suitable engine for his plane. Therefore, he was detained and imprisoned. Janaki is compelled to travel to Singapore to attend university with her relatives. Later, she married Ananthan, their son.

The story ended after widowed Janaki and her daughter encountered old Venkidi. They traveled to India to meet him. He received the “Padma Award” for his achievements. Janaki and her daughter flew together through Venkidi's ancient aircraft. He built the airplane years ago in a village.
