Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and hailing from Palakkad, Kerala, Pradeep Kalipurayath is an Indian Film Director, Filmmaker and Cinematographer. He had a keen interest in Photography which used to be his hobby. Pradeep studied at Union Christian School in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He later pursued BSc in Visual Communication at SRM Arts and Science College in Chennai. Pradeep first worked as an independent assistant director for commercial filmmakers like Jabbar Kallarakkal. He associated and collaborated with Rajeev Menon Productions since his college days which marked the start of his advertising career.
Pradeep learnt editing, direction and cinematography under his mentor Praveen Prabhakaran. He also had a prominent career in the Television Industry by directing Television Snippets for Doordarshan. He was the director of the short film Strange and the Malayalam film Safe, which was released in 2019. He was the cinematographer for films like I Just Don’t Get It which was released in 2007, That Four Letter Word in 2008, Touch in 2015 and Shaitan in 2016. He also worked as a Freelance Cinematographer, Photography, Direction, and additional crew member or assistant for many short to long films.
