Madhu Kaithapram was born in 1970 in Kannur, Kerala, India. Madhu Kaithapram was a Malayalam film director who made his directorial debut in 2006 with the feature film Ekantham. 'Ekantham,' featuring late actors Thilakan and Murali, is about oldage loneliness. He received the National Film Award for Best Debutant Director for this film. The movie also won the Kerala government's special jury prize. Madhu, a native of Kannur's Kaithapram, made films such as Madhyavenal and Vellivelichathil. Still, he was always at odds with commercial interests, wanting to make sound films that appealed to the audience because of the diversity of subjects ranging from humanity's painful existence to the politics of turbulence.
'Madhyavenal,' released in 2009, featuring Manoj K Jayan and Swetha Menon. The film received the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for best film with social importance and dedication to the young filmmaker. Madhu's other two directorial projects are 'Orma Mathram' (2011) and 'Velli Vellichathil' (2014). He was married to Raagi Madhu and had a son named Sriram. Unfortunately, he died at 44 at a private hospital in Calicut, Kerala, due to some diabetes-related complications. He took his last breath on 29th December 2014.
