Pratheesh is known as a Video Jockey, an anchor, and an actor. Passionate about acting since childhood, Prateesh took his first step to his dream by becoming a VJ in Kiran TV, a musical channel associated with Surya Tv. He anchored some of the famous programs like
Darling Darling
, Meghasandesam, and Chuma Chuma. He had many fan followers for his programs, as Kiran Tv was a trend setter as it telecasted only songs. Later he joined Kairali Tv for anchoring the famous program Students only, a chat show with students along with celebrities. This program helped him to make contacts in the movie industry. He took up many anchoring jobs in different channels and had established himself in the television industry.
In 2008 he made his movie debut through College Kumaran, a Mohanlal starrer movie directed by Thulasidas. It was followed by director Siddique’s romantic comedy, Dileep and Nayanthara starrer Bodyguard in 2010. He appeared as a classmate of Dileep and Nayanthara in the film. In 2012 he debuted as the lead actor in Dhanyam, directed by a debutant Jayalal. He was paired opposite Pooja, also a newbie to the industry. Dhanyam was a romantic movie with village life as the back drop. The movie did not do well, but he says that as an actor it was a learning experience for him.
Meanwhile he started acting in Television; his first debut was in Kumkumapoovu as Arun who falls in love with the central character Shalini without knowing that she is his sister. He left the show even before his character got shape and was replaced by Jayakrishnan. His second innings started with the famous serial Chandanamazha. He plays the role of Abhishek, the son of Desai family. He has gained a lot of appreciation for his character portrayal and proves how he has grown as an actor.
Pratheesh is from Kottayam and is married to Devaja, a nurse by profession in 2012. They are settled in Kochi and are blessed with a son in 2013. He has done his post-graduation from K.G College, Pambady. In 2007, he received Best Anchor Award for his shows in Kiran TV and in 2013, he received Best New Face Award for Chandanamazha in Asianet Television Awards.
