Puttur, or simply, Shilpa Shetty, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in the Kannada film and television industry. She is a model and has worked in the Tulu film industry as well. Shetty was born on 24 June 1995, in Puttur, Karnataka to a Tulu-speaking family but was brought up in Bangalore, Karnataka. She is the younger daughter of Vasantha Shetty and Yashoda Shetty. She has an elder sister, Poornima Shetty.  She did her schooling in Ramakrishna High School, Puttur and attended Vivekananda Polytechnic, Puttur, and Sahayadri College of Engineering for her degree, but dropped midway through the course to pursue a career in acting.

Shetty began her career as a model and has worked in the field for a few years before venturing into the Kannada television industry.
