Tejasvi Surya is a politician, lawyer, and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is the representative of Bangalore South Constituency, in the 17th Lok Sabha, as a member of the Parliament. He was born to L. A. Suryanarayan (Joint Commissioner of Excise) and Rama. He was also appointed as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on 26th September 2020. He is an Advocate in Karnataka High Court. He sold 17 of his paintings to make donations for the Army's Kargil Fund at a very tender age. For his skills in creative writing, Tejasvi received the National Bal Shree Honour award in 2001. He completed his schooling at “Sri Kumaran Children Home.” He graduated from Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies and also completed his Bachelor in Academic Law and LLB. “Arise India," a Non-governmental Organization, is owned by Tejasvi, which works in education. He had worked, as a columnist, with “India Facts” for over a year. He is also the co-founder of an organization named “Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence.” It majorly focuses on projects related to education and entrepreneurship.
Surya's presence is crucial for BJP's Karnataka Politics. During his college days, he was among the most active Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Later he served as the Secretary of ABVP till 2016. In the same year, he became the General Secretary of BJYM. He was responsible for making the “Mangalore Chalo” rally a successful campaign. At the age of 18, he became the youngest candidate to win the General Lok Sabha elections of 2019. With a large margin of 2 lakh and more votes, Tejasvi won against BK Hariprasad of INC. He then took an oath on 17th June 2019 as a member of Parliament.
