Upasana Mohan is a playback singer, music director, singer, and composer. He was born and raised in Mysuru, where he shared a home with his parents, Jayaram and Bhagayalakshmi. He moved home with his musically-inclined grandfather, Srikantha Shastry, after his father passed away. Despite such an environment in the home, he never learned to play an instrument. Yet after turning 18, he made the decision to focus only on music. He spent over five years studying music with his mentor Srivatsa. Subsequently, after moving to Bangalore, he started an electronics shop. He closed his shop and dedicated all of his time to music when running both the shop and the music simultaneously became difficult. After some time, he met the great music artist G. V. Atri and became his disciple. In 1999, he opened his own music school, by the name upasana. Mohan has given his music to several films, including Raaji, Amruthavahini, and Hasiru Ribbon Click to look into! >> Read More... .
