Manoranjan Prabhakar also known as Prabhakar Naidu is a music composer and singer belonging to the Kannada music industry. He was born in 1952, in Bangalore, (then Mysore state), India. He was born to a family with a musical background which persuaded him to start training in music. He was tutored by M. S. Vishwanathan, Lt. David, and Lt. Stephen Chacha. He started performing as the lead guitarist with the band Manoranjan and Party. Eventually, he started recording albums and composing music. He has to his credit 800+ albums in association with the leading music labels including Tips Industries, Aarti Live Cassettes, Jhankar Music, Ashwini Audio, Rainbow audio, T-Series, Revathi Devi Audio, Saregama, Sri Balaji Audio, and Magnum Audio among others.
He also taught music at Adarsha Film and TV Institute for a few years. He laid the foundation of the Shruthilaya Cultural Academy in 2003. He also founded the Shruthilaya Institute of Music, a division of Shruthilaya Cultural Academy in Bangalore that provides professional training in various musical instruments. He has composed music for movies like Prajegalu Prabhugalu, Neene Nanna Jeeva, Kiladi Gandu, Adjustment, Mecchida Madumaga, Jana Mecchida Maga, Chamathkara, and many more.
