Charanraj is a songwriter and vocalist from India. He primarily composes music for Kannada movies. He was born in the Indian state of Karnataka, in the town of Kodagu. Raj studied Carnatic and Classical music with Perumbavoor G. Raveendranath and Neecia Majolly. He also has a grade eight qualification from the London School of Music in piano. Raj's first Kannada film, Harivu, was released in 2014. Raj's first big break came with the album "Winds of Samsara" (2014). In 2015, this album was awarded Grammy Award for Best New Age Album. He's also worked as an arranger for films.
